SEASON 8 SERIES 25 HIGHLIGHTS
Game 1
Kevin Brown started it off with a beautiful CG 2 hit, 9K shut out, while Brett & Cravaath provided the fireworks with dingers.

Game 2
A tight game with only 4 hits to each side and it was knotted at 2 in the 7th when Ted Simmons, coming in to replace Carroll who was shelfed for 19 days by being beaned, unknotted it with a 2-run shot.

Game 3
Marichal was pummeled for 4 runs in the 1st, and was knocked out as Redstorm took a 7-1 lead in the 5th behind homers by Averill & Justice. But HBB scored in every inning from the 5th on in a great rally. Simmons knocks another out, but it is Brouthers' 2-run, 2 out ,bottom of the 9th shot off of Tug MgGraw that dramatically wins it.

Game 4
This was the slugfest, with 9 taters in all. Averill, Mitchell and 2 by Jack Clark paced the RSR, but Collins, Brett, Cravaath & 2 by King Kelly sealed it for HBB to sweep the series.

Phoenix pulls off a much needed sweep of the Dragons, with both the offense and the pitching contributing heavily. The bullpen was pretty depleted by the last game of the series, but Josh Johnson stepped up with a complete game to give them pen a breather.

Castaic's Newcombe shuts out Coastline in the first game which must have upset them because Coastline took the last three games. Coastline shut out Castaic in the second game and pulled out an eleventh inning victory in the third game. Carl Yastrzemski ends his on base streak at 96 games - going 1 for 14 in the series with 2 walks.

Koufax gets win number 21. Cuyler gets on base 4 times and scores 4 runs. Irish Meusel goes yard in a 2-4 day for the Mountain Lions.

A-Rod accounts for all the offense for the Yard Dogs. In his 2-3, 4 RBI day, he hits a solo shot and a Baltimore special. The 4 RBI give him 101 on the season. Sam Crawford and Harvey Kuenn get 2 hits each for TML and Mickey Cochrane hits one out.

Gibby and a cast of relievers hold off Truckee. The big inning for YRK was the 4th when they scored all 5 runs on 5 consecutive RBI hits by batters 4-8. Crawford picked up 2 more hits in the game for the Mountain Lions and George Kell went 3-5.

Schilling and Trucks started and did just fine. However, when the two teans went to the pen, Truckee got 3.2 innings of 2 hit shutout and Yorktown did not. Tied at 2 all in the 10th, pinch hitter Ozzie Smith singled and stole 2nd. One batter later, Mickey Cochrane ripped his 4th hit of the game off Joel Zumaya and Ozzie raced home with what would be the winning run. Cochrane finished the game with a line of 4-5, 1 HR, 2 R, 2 RBI. Ichiro had 3 hits for YRK and seldom used Michael Young hit his 1st homer of the year.
