Game 1:

- Jim Horn
A split series for the 4th straight week for the Renegades, which I guess is progress for a team that is 12 games under .500. Recent acquisition Amos Rusie pitches winning baseball in his debut for RSR, in a 3-2 win in game 3. Game 3 ended with the tying run for SSR getting gunned down at the plate on an RP.
- Doug Shoemaker
Yorktown 5-0
Koufax throws 1-hitter and K's 10. Derek Jeter broke up the no-no. A-Rod leads YRK with a 2-4 day including a homer and 4 RBI.
Yorktown 8-7
Yard Dogs pull it out in the 9th. Galarraga and Posada go deep for Wildcats and pick up 3 RBI each. But Delgado blasts 2 homers with 5 RBI to keep the game within Yard Dog's reach. Staub's SF in the 9th wins it.
Laurel 3-2
Figure this one out. Laurel is held to 1 hit in the game and commits 3 errors...and wins...courtesy of 10 Bob Gibson walks.
Yorktown 5-4
Another close one as Al Simmons wins it for the Yard Dogs on a 9th inning home run. Suzuki entered the series with a .364 avg. He gets 3 hits in this game (9 in the series, 109 for the year) to go to .377

Game 62--
Bullpen clown of the moment Saito gives it away, though his teammates fought hard. Campy with 3 RBI. BAL 5, SHA 4.
Game 63--
Dragons errupt. Dickey goes deep 2X, Willie and Eddie once apiece. Seaver (in relief; it was close early) beans Manny (out 4 games) for the win. SHA 13, BAL 4.
Game 64--
Dragons come from behind thanks to some clutch hitting from a slumping Mathews. Key yields 0 ER over seven, but "itchy" bullpen clown Cla (Cla?) vultures the win. SHA 4, BAL 3.
Game 65--
Bert pitches OK, but Palmer damn near no-hits us! No manner of clever St. Orlando/Mao ShiGao baserunning antics (4 SB) could produce a single run. Dragon highlight was RF Dale ("The Man No One Wanted") Murray gunning down Brooks Robbie 9-3 when the latter got a bit lackadasical "running out" a putative single. BAL 3, SHA 0.
Dragons are now 31-33. This is not shocking-- most folks here I talked to said "well, ya know, maybe a playoff slot, but, no offense, maybe a .500 unit"-- but 15 of my losses are charged to my bullpen crew! Gimme back my Ironmen of Yore!
Still a fun series. I've nothing to prove here, just like playing the games dans mon dotage.
